Aerial Services

Our aerial services division provides a number of services that utilize small unmanned aircraft system (sUAS) or as they are commonly known, drones. Each of our pilots are FAA part 107 certified, which allows us to fly commercially and in locations that recreational pilots are not permitted to fly. We have also received the additional training and certification required for night time operations and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) training. Additional training will occur on an as needed basis.

Thermal Imaging

Thermal imaging allows you to visualize the energy being emitted from an object in the form of heat. This technology allows you to see what could otherwise not be seen. One common use is to look for water under roof membranes; water will absorb energy while exposed to the solar load of the sun, and once the load is off, the water will continue to hold and release heat allowing you locate that water. There are many uses for thermal imaging; check out our dedicated page for more information.

All of our thermographers are certified through ITC.

Aerial Photography

We maintain a small fleet of aircraft that we use for the primary purpose of general photography. Our standard workhorse is the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. This platform offers a full frame sensor and provides great daylight and nighttime photography. It is also a rock solid platform allowing us to fly in moderate winds and still get motion free images. Aerial photography can give a unique view and can provide a real-time overview of an entire area. Aerial photography can track progress of a building project or site construction. Additionally aerial imaging can be used to survey building roofs to look for storm damage without the unnecessary risk to human life.

Videography

Our aerial platforms that we use for photography are all also capable of recording video up to full 4K resolution. We have the ability to fly larger platforms for specific use cases. If you need to fly a DSLR or perhaps a RED or similar cinema camera, we would be more than happy to help as well. So no matter your project, give us a call and we can make it happen

Mapping

What is drone mapping? The maps you see on some of the large search engine providers are taken from satellites or high resolution cameras on airplanes. For most general uses such as navigation this is more than adequate. However, some of these images can be up to several years old. If you are trying to make changes to land or property it’s not always helpful to have imagery that old. You can get current satellite images that are current, but that will cost you a bucket of cash.

Please Read:

While we would love to take every single job, there are certain places we simply are not allowed to fly. Such places include very close proximity to major airports, near major sporting events, certain prohibited airspace including Washington, DC and some surrounding areas (DC-FRZ). These areas are occasionally flyable with a FAA waiver, including some of the DF-FRZ area! When you contact us, we will do an initial online map survey and reference your location against FAA sectional charts. In the event that your mission can not be flown due to airspace prohibitions or temporary flight restrictions (TFR) we will try and come up with an alternate plan. Please understand that airspace changes sometimes happen rapidly and are out of our control.
